Built around one problem: Egypt is hard to film in without the right contacts.

Location access, permit requirements and on-the-ground logistics are the parts of production that go wrong most often when working in Egypt. We built a service specifically around these.

Where we started

Productions coming to Egypt consistently ran into the same cluster of problems. Locations that looked available turned out to require permits that took weeks. Property owners who agreed verbally pulled out days before the shoot. Equipment vendors confirmed delivery and then did not show.

These are not unusual problems in production. But in Egypt they happen with enough frequency and enough severity that international productions often write the country off entirely, or bring in a full local production company when all they actually need is location and logistics support.

First GT Location was set up to fill this gap. We focus exclusively on the location side of production. We find locations, we manage permits, we coordinate on shoot day. We do not direct, produce or advise creatively.

Our database covers locations across Cairo, Giza, Alexandria and surrounding regions, with ongoing additions as we vet new properties.

Permit processes vary significantly by location type. We have worked through the requirements for heritage sites, public land, private venues and government-adjacent properties.
